Toby a.k.a the Goodness of God

Sometimes little things can be a spark or a reflection for a mommy like me; a glimpse of smile, a shrug of shoulders, an "eww" for a new meal, a high pitch of calling, a small sound of "Thanks mom," and many more reactions that my children can show. But yesterday it's a kind of a special joy that my second child, Toby, had shown me how his kindness of heart melted me.
It's a tradition for my mother in law's village to celebrate the anniversary of the city by having "tirakatan" or simple festival by having meal together. Every family prepare a box of kinds of simple dishes and bring it to the festival and people can enjoy one another's meal. While arranging the dishes in the box my little boy also busy with his writing. He's also claiming that one of the boxes was his. I said "Ok", while not really paid attention to what he was doing. Until he said: "Ok, I want everybody to know this." Interested to what he said, I started to take a look and asked, "What's that?" I saw a paper that he wrote with blue crayon, "God is good." "Wow!" I said. I was so marveled to what he wrote. "That's right, baby, God is good. Just as the meaning of your name, the goodness of God, and you want to share it to everybody, that's great," I added. He's eyes full of joy and excitement. He insisted to have it cut and then he put the paper in the box that was already full of meal.
That evening, I kind of proud of myself that my consistency of having him read his bible everyday proving that it's not in vain. Thank you, Lord.
